August

Well, by now you should have your hands full with your landscape duties, and gardening chores. Remember not to cut your grass too short, especially if want your lawn to stay alive and healthy, Leaving your grass longer will help the ground to retain it's moisture levels longer.

Be sure to keep your lawn fertilized properly throughout these summer months. If you do, you won't need to water as often, and your yard will be one of the greenest in your neighborhood.

You'll also want to start thinking about what you will be doing with all of your fresh produce. If you'll be canning this year, you might start thinking about getting all of your canning jars together, along with all of the other canning supplies you'll need.

If you plan on freezing some of your vegetables, now is the time to clean out your freezer. Out with the old, and in with the new. Here you have an excellent opportunity to throw a backyard barbeque. Take all of those different vegetables, and invite the neighbors over for an afternoon of feasting on last year's bounty.
